Tonight, we celebrated my mom’s birthday the best way I know how – a night in with family, a home cooked meal (barbecued chicken and rice, my dad’s specialty), bouquets of flowers, and Snickers ice cream bars. I don’t know why cake gets all the birthday glory when Snickers ice cream bars are so much tastier.

Mama, you are the best mom in the world. I know a lot of people say that about their own moms, but they’re liars. I live such a happy life, filled with love and support, because you’re my mom. I don’t think any mother has ever loved her kids as much as you love Bren and me, and I assure you, the feeling is mutual. We are both so very lucky to have you as a mom, and I can only hope that one day I am as good a mother as you. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!
